Stretches you can do at your desks

Bruce, our in house Stretch Therapist demonstrates three effective Neck Stretches you can perform at your desks when working at the office. Apart from stretching, please remember to get up and walk around after every 30 minutes of seating to promote blood circulation through movement.

Seated Neck Stretch

While seated, grab the side of your chair and ensure proper posture by sitting up straight

With your other arm, grab the opposing side of your head and gently pull your ears towards the other shoulder

Hold stretch for 5 seconds, release and repeat for another 10 repetitions

Repeat on the other side

Seated Neck Stretch #2

While seated, grab the side of your chair and ensure proper posture by sitting up straight

Turn your head 45 degress and with the other arm, grab the opposing side of your head downwards while you slowly bring your eyes to the floor.

Hold stretch for 5 seconds, release and repeat for another 10 repetitions

Repeat on the other side

Seated Neck Stretch #3

Siting on your chair, ensure proper posture by sitting up right with your chest proud.

Turn your head to the end range of direction and proceed to look diagonally up until you feel the stretch at the front of the neck.

To increase the stretch, bring your chin forward (like what Bruce is doing in the picture) and hold for 5 seconds.

Repeat for 10 repetitions and then work the other side of your neck.
